As Professional Engineers we have ethical obligations to society, and many US states require engineering ethics courses be taken during each PE license renewal cycle. A list of states with ethics course requirements is listed below:
Delaware: 3 - 6 hours
District of Columbia: 1-hour
Florida: 1-hour
Indiana: 1-hour
Iowa: 1-hour
Louisiana: 1-hour
Maryland: 1-hour
Minnesota: 1-hour
Mississippi: 1-hour
New Jersey: 1-hour
New Mexico: 1-hour
New York: 1-hour
Ohio: 2-hours (rules or ethics)
Texas: 1-hour
Wisconsin: 2-hours
